New Officers for 2006-2007

The officers elected to serve from April 2006 through March 2007 are:

President - Craig Kittendorf
Vice President - Tana Grattet
Secretary - Barbara Mann
Treasurer - Irv Jahns
Instructors - Robert Christian, Barbara Mann, Lee Roberts

Craig will appoint other members to offices and responsibilities as needed. A big thank you to Lance Peterson, Bob Whitworth, Art Mamott, and Barbara Mann who served as officers for the last two years.

Saturday Workshop
Carve a Deer

On Saturday, April 22, Barbara Mann will teach how to carve a deer. You have your choice of a doe or a buck to work on that day. Additional cutouts of both will be available for purchase. This workshop will be held in the picnic shelter at Lake Ella from 9 a.m. to about 4 p.m.

This club supported program will cost each participant $10. One doe cutout is included in the fee. Barbara will be available at the club meetings for the next month so you can finish the carvings. These Saturday workshops are easy-going and a lot of fun.

Sign-ups in advance (by April 20) are required so Barbara has time to prepare the materials. When you sign up indicate your choice of wood for your cutout(s): basswood, butternut, cherry, or walnut. To sign up see Tana Grattet at the April 17th meeting or call her at 668-4245. The $10 fee can be paid to the club at the April 17th meeting or on the day of the workshop.

Dues Are Due

Club dues of $20 are due at the first April meeting each year. If you have not paid your dues, a membership form is included with this newsletter. Fill it out and bring it to the April 17th or 24th meeting with your money or check. You can send the completed form and a check made out to Capital City Carvers to the treasurer: Irwin Jahns, 1906 Myrick Rd., Tallahassee, FL 32303.

Program Survey

Tana, our Vice President, must plan programs and workshops for the coming year. She has devised a survey for club members to indicate their needs and interests. The survey is part of this mailing. Please fill out the survey and bring it to the April 17th or 24th meeting and give it to Tana. If you need to mail the survey, her address is:

Tana Grattet
PO Box 14314
Tallahassee, FL 32317.

If you would like to talk in person with Tana, she welcomes your comments. Your input will be reflected in the schedule beginning in September.
